Scrap Metal Figurative Sculpture by Stephen Fitz-Gerald

Artist Stephen Fitz-Gerald uses scavenged scrap metal to create these wonderful sculptures.

Repose

Arch of Triumph

Asia

I fill in the spaces between the parts by welding, then remove excess material by grinding. In this way I can shape the smooth contours of the face.

Invocation

Lifesize figurative sculpture made from recycled stainless steel industrial scrap.(from a washing machine manufacturer)

Reflection (self portrait)

This is a seminal piece for me as it constitutes my first self portrait in sculpture. It was made 15 years ago from welded industrial scrap punch parts.

The Seer

Lifesize bust made from industrial scrap steel punch parts and fencing swords.
