
Kronid Gogolev was born on July 13, 1926 in the Novgorod province in the family of the former priest.

As an original artist developing traditions of the folk art, Kronid Gogolev became famous in 1984 after his two personal exhibitions in Moscow.

Each of his works has its unique features, but they are united in an observation and a quivering attitude to everything that is created by nature.

Kronid Gogolev is able to use plastic, texture, warmth of wood masterly, emphasizing mighty natural force in deep multilayered reliefs made of linden or alder.
