Toronto-based designer Brian Banton created these kinetic typeface called 'Heterosis', a three-dimensional fonts made from transparent elastic bands that run between two parallel plexiglass windows.
Ottawa self-taught artist and carpenter Drew Mosley paints these incredible dioramas encased in wooden bowls filled with layers of painted resin that create a three dimensional sculpture.

At the time, I’m sure my sister and I thought it was torture but it forced us to amuse ourselves and let our imaginations be our entertainment. Many hours were logged in those woods surrounding the Ottawa Valley building tree forts, catching frogs and dreaming up all manners of fantastical situations."

Brooklyn-based sculptor Michael Murphy (previously here and here) is back with his newest installation, 'Perceptual Shift', made of 1,252 painted wooden balls suspended from the ceiling.
When viewed from the right angle reveals a flat halftone eye.
"The imagery of the eye is inspired by the mass surveillance and data collection being conducted by the United States government. Imagery of a singular eye known as the Eye of Providence or the all seeing eye can be found on One Dollar bills, on the Great Seal, and on the logo of DARPA's Information Awareness office. On the one dollar bill, the single eye is accompanied by the motto Annuit Coeptis, meaning "God approves our undertakings," implying that it is God who has inferred the divine right of absolute power onto these organizations."
"A perceptual shift is a moment that occurs when an individual's interpretation of a particular stimulus suddenly changes. When viewing this sculpture, a perceptual shift occurs when a seemingly chaotic arrangement of black particles suddenly coalesce into a highly organized graphic image. The title is a reference to this event and to the perceptual shift that needs to occur amongst the American people, in order for a genuine change to take place in the role our government plays in our private lives. We must demand privacy and break apart this all-seeing eye."
"This sculpture is the first of its kind. It is a 3-D halftone; a three dimensional composition that renders an illusion of a flat graphic halftone image. Within that graphic image is the illusion of volume and three-dimensional space. Traditionally halftone images are rendered on a two-dimensional plane with two axes, X and Y. In this instance, I have introduced a third dimension, the Z-axis."

Japanese artist Nagai Hideyuki creates amazing sketchbook drawings which viewed from the right angle create a realistic 3D illusion, inspired anamorphosis technique.
Georgia-based artist Michael Murphy (previously here) created large installation of incredible multi layered sculptures.
TIME Magazine
The artist created this 8' X 6' X 7' cardboard sculpture of President Barack Obama for TIME Magazine's iPad edition of their annual Person of the Year issue, consist of 66 hand-cut cardboard plates suspended with white braided fibers.
"The goal with this piece was to capture Barack Obama's essence in a way that formally referenced the current political climate in America and offered a tactile glimpse at the divide between its two dominant political parties."
"Straight on, the shapes are perfectly organized, creating a graphic portrait of Obama as a strong leader. As the viewer moves around the sculpture, seeing it and the points of view change, the image of the president becomes distorted and the layers become their own separate pieces."
"In the distortion, viewers are encouraged to see the red and blue edges of the plates as indications of the electoral divides. From the side, the forward momentum of the piece, as it protrudes out into space suggests growth, progress, movement, and the partisan divide."
Gold Jumpman
This installation in Chicago Nike Town constructed of a heap of gold-plated sneakers-shaped slabs, hanging from the ceiling and placed in order to represent Michael Jordan from his Air Jordan logo.
Gun Country
This large installation on the terrace of the Urban Institute for Contemporary Arts, consists of 130 toy guns painted black with orange tips, carefully suspended in the air.
"The question I am most commonly asked is whether the work is for or against guns. The answer is that it’s neither. It is intended to stimulate conversation about guns and gun related issues in the US."
"Every viewer that I have discussed the piece with has seemed inclined to tell me their stance on guns. Through this conversation that the piece inspires, it is my hope that people will think more critically about their stance on guns and gun related issues. I believe that through conversation, thoughts and ideas that are vocalized become their own entity and lend themselves to closer scrutiny and critical reflection."
British artists Joe Hill and Max Lowry have created great pavement chalk art.
This is the world’s largest and longest 3D street painting located in the Canary Wharf district of London. The 1,160.4 meters square x 106.5m long painting was sponsored by Reebok CrossFit and it took seven days to create it.
