Alabama-based artist Walton Creel found a way of deweaponizing the gun by using it to create art.

'Deweaponizing the Gun' is a series of large scale "drawings" created by shooting complicated patterns through 6x4' white painted sheets of aluminum with a .22 caliber rifle given to him by his father as a present.

"My main goal was to take the destructive power away from the gun. To manipulate the gun into a tool of creation and use it in a way that removed it from its original purpose, to deweaponize it," he said.
