Vanishing Sliced Steel Sculpture by Julian Voss-Andreae

German-American sculptor Julian Voss-Andreae created this incredible 8-foot sculpture, called 'Quantum Man', that visually disappears when looked from a certain angle, made of a series of layered steel sheets.

"When approached from the front or back, the sculpture seems to consist of solid steel, but when seen from the side it visually disappears almost completely. This fascinating effect offers a range of possible interpretations. In the context of quantum physics–inspired art it is natural to see Quantum Man as a metaphor for the wave-particle duality, the phenomenon that all matter exhibits wave-like or particle-like properties depending on the experimental question we ask."

New 3D Collages by Dustin Yellin

Contemporary artist Dustin Yellin (previously here) commissioned by the New York City Ballet to present a large scale installation of his new works at Lincoln Center for the 2015 NYCB Art Series.

The 15 large-scale glass and mixed-media sculptures, each weighing more than 3,000 pounds, are part of his series 'Psychogeographies'.

The multilayered pieces are made of cutouts from books, newspapers and magazines, forming intricate, collage-like compositions that seem to be floating in space.

Embroidered Travel Snapshots by Teresa Lim

Textile artist Teresa Lim embroiders detailed places she visits when she travels the world, in her ongoing series 'Sew Wanderlust'.

“I started the project late 2014 after I realised that with today’s state of the art technology, taking pictures becomes so easy. I wanted something more from my travels, to be able to take back a part of that place with me. One thing I realised is that when you take a photo of a place, you don’t actually pick up as much detail as when you actually sit down and draw or sew it. When I’m done with a piece, I actually feel like I KNOW that place, and that gives me a huge sense of satisfaction that I think just taking a photo wouldn’t give.”

Awesome Shadow Art by Paul Pacotto

French sculptor Paul Pacotto created a series of sculptures, then illuminates them by projecting light towards them, allowing shadow characters to appear behind them.
