China Rice Paddy Art

Chinese rice farmers in Shenyang, China created these 3D murals on their rice paddy fields as part of an annual tradition to pray for blessings.



The members of the Xibo ethnic group in Liaoning province, create the 3D effect using different varieties of rice saplings that grow to be different heights and colors. The finished works span about 25 acres.



Horticulturist Peng Haifeng introduces rice plants of different colours for making the paddy field art in Shenyang, capital of northeast China's Liaoning Province.
