Japanese balloon artist Rie Hosokai and art director/graphic designer Takashi Kawada, the collective known as ‘Daisy Balloon’, create elegant dresses made entirely from latex balloons.
Although the material is inexpensive (around ¢0.09 cents a balloon), the dresses that last only 24 hours before starting to deflate, and can change color at high temperatures, can cost between ¥150,000 and ¥300,000. She has even sold a full set of balloon-made wedding dress, headpiece and bouquet for ¥1 million.
”You can wow people at parties or weddings with a balloon dress. They’ll be surprised.”
