Rome-based artists Matteo Gallinelli and Giuliano Antonio Lo Re created realistic images of planets for their series 'Pan Planets', using an ordinary frying pan and combination of water, oils, paints, and other colorings.
"Basically, like all of our projects, the final images become real after a period of brainstorming between us. We were not sure about the final results, but we wanted to create a photographic project using some strange material as we had done before with other projects. We decided to go into an art store and choose the stuff and materials we needed. When we were there the result we wanted to achieve finally became clear in our mind: create some celestial bodies using strange materials that would reproduce the texture of the planets and do all of it in a pan!"
