New Orleans-based fine artist Heather Hansen creates large scale charcoal paintings called 'Emptied Gestures', by using her body movements and a piece of charcoal.
"The goal of life is to make your heartbeat match the beat of the universe. To match your nature with Nature.”
"Emptied Gestures is an experiment in kinetic drawing. In this series I am exploring ways to download my movement directly onto paper, emptying gestures from one form to another."
Her artworks remind me of Tony Orrico's penwald drawings.
Check this video, filmed at her studio in the Bywater, New Orleans.
